We are excited to kick off the 2024 school year with an incredible opportunity to give back to our community. This year, Rocket City Causeway is partnering with Kids Market Consignment Sale and Stockton Mortgage with Meg Curlee to bring gently used items to families as we approach the fall and holiday season. With the help of our volunteers and sponsors, we have the potential to serve hundreds of children and families in need.

Our 2024 Causeway Closet event will benefit GAP (Grandparents as Parents) and New Futures Family Shelter. Locust Grove Baptist Church has graciously provided space to host the event. If you are not with one of these agencies but know of a family in need—or if your family could use assistance—please email emily@rocketcitycauseway.org with the age, gender, and size of each family member.

To make this event a success, we need your help! Donations from Kids Market will be picked up on Friday, September 27th, at 11:30 a.m., and we need as many drivers with vans or trucks as possible to transport items from Kids Market on University Drive to Locust Grove Baptist Church in New Market. Volunteers are also needed Thursday evening, September 26th, to help set up tables, Friday afternoon and evening, September 27th, to organize and prepare, and Saturday, September 28th, through Tuesday, October 1st, during the event. During the open "shopping" hours, we will need helpers to assist families and restock tables and racks. Additionally, we will have a team creating care packages for those unable to attend the event.

With just 2 to 4 hours of your time, you can make a lasting difference for these families. Serving alongside your children is a powerful way to show them the impact they can have on others.

A special thank you goes out to Kids Market Consignment Owners, Stockton Mortgage with Meg Curlee and team, Locust Grove Baptist Church, and all of the volunteers from Rocket City Causeway for making this event possible.
