This Road We've Traveled: Ruby Bridges
This is a bite-sized history lesson about the mural “This Road We’ve Traveled”. Students will discuss the Civil Rights Movement, what equality is and looks like today, and how our differences make us special. Students will learn about African American scientists, inventors, aviators, and leaders from Alabama emphasizing Ruby Bridges, a six-year-old girl who integrated the William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans.
This field trip is ideal for PreK-2nd grade but up to 5th grade are welcome! Cost is $10 per person. Tickets available for purchase until January 27th. We must have 15 attendees to make this field trip possible.
